CITYNET – A QUESTION OF SPACE

ABSTRACT
The
contemporary informational city is characterized from the phenomena of
pervasive computing defined by precise phenomena: (1) computerizing of
all the devices and screens; (2) network connection; (3) the convergence
of digital language and (4) geolocation.
The
emblematic technologies of this new phase are: Internet of things, that
transforms things and architectures in computer connections, and the
expanded reality, which hybridizes real space and virtual things in real
time. This hybrid space is an expanded space, increased, connected to
the Internet, and geolocated, hence somehow anchored in the physical
space. And it is exactly the Internet of things and the expanded reality
that defines a new spatial dimension, wide, expanded, increased that I
called Citynet.
